Johnson To

I study chemical engineering at UC Berkeley. This summer I was an R&D engineering intern at Delphon Industries, working on high-temperature silicone films for electrostatic discharge protection.

Outside of class I build things, like a waste bin that sorts itself with computer vision and an electrolysis cell for measuring hydrogen yield.

Delphon Industries

  • Led a high-temperature ESD film project for semiconductor customers, formulating 10 silicone/CNT blends (107 to 1011 Ω/sq) and scaling them from 20 g batches to 25–50 kg on a cleanroom coating line.
  • Characterized films with 231 tack tests, 88 Zygo, SEM, and optical scans, and a 28-day 150 °C shelf-life study; helped root-cause two production defects.
  • Presented results to R&D leads, the CEO, and the CFO, after which the company increased project funding.
